Black Desert Online players on consoles will soon be able to play together.
Pearl Abyss, the developers of MMORPG Black Desert Online, announced today cross-play is coming to the game on PS4 and Xbox One March 4.
Released on consoles last year, the game is currently celebrating its fourth anniversary in North America and Europe.
The MMO is known not only for its lovely visuals and a skill-based combat system, but for having one of if not the best character creation features around.
Anyway, it’s nice to see another game implementing cross-play between platforms, which means you’ll have all sorts of others to play with.

Amid the reveal of Operation Void Edge and the Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 reveal, Ubisoft has also revealed some exciting changes to the format, structure, and sustainability of its flagship esports title.
For starters, Rainbow Six Esports is making a concerted push towards better regionalisation. For many years now the different competitive regions of Siege esports – EU, LATAM, NA, and APAC – have been treated in broadly the same way, which creates lots of issues for regions like APAC where huge distances between teams makes scrimming very difficult. APAC is now being split into two divisions in order to address that issue with Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian forming a single, highly competitive, online league of 12 teams, while a separate division is formed in the Oceanic region...
Cyberpunk 2077 is not only going to be one of the most ambitious and technically demanding games released this year, but of the entire generation. It’s shocking to think the ol’ PS4 and Xbox One will be able to even run the game. That said, despite the massive resource demands of the title, Polish developer CD Projekt Red isn’t entirely writing off a Nintendo Switch port.
As you may know, CD Projekt Red did — somehow — bring it’s ambitious and massive 2015 open-world RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, to the Nintendo Switch recently (with the help of Saber Interactive). In other words, if there are video game development wizards out there who could get Cyberpunk 2077 running on the Nintendo Switch, it would be the pair of European developers.
“I don’t know if Cyberpunk 2077 would work on ...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC doesn’t kick off until February 11, but before that happens, it appears developer Infinity Ward and Activision have leaked Season 2’s content early over on the game’s official website. And according to the website, we won’t be getting a battle royale mode, or if we are, it’s not advertising it. What we are getting is Ghost, two new guns, and a bunch of Battle Pass filler content.
More specifically, the website confirms that Ghost will be a new Operator, and will be instantly available for anyone who cops that Battle Pass. Meanwhile, there’s also two new guns being added to the game: the Grau 5.56 (lightweight, maneuverable and full of potential) and the Striker 45 (hard-hitting and long-range SMG)...
During the Electronic Arts earnings call, management shared an update on the company’s stance on supporting the Nintendo Switch. So far, EA has only released 5 games on Switch, including FIFA 18, FIFA 19, FIFA 20, Unravel Two, and Fe. But looking ahead, can fans expect more releases on Switch.
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said EA has been “very pleased” with “how well Nintendo has done with the Switch.” Nintendo just recently announced that the Switch has passed 52.48 million units sold, which is a very strong start for the system that launched in 2017.
The executive said EA is “always” discussing ideas with Nintendo for future game support. “As the platform grows, our interest in developing for it grows,” Jorgsensen said.
Jorgensen went on to say that EA has been cautious thus far with supp...
The original director of 2006’s Silent Hill film is developing two new horror game-to-film projects for the big screen.
Director Christopher Gans is working on a new addition to the Silent Hill franchise, he revealed to the online publication Allocine. The upcoming fim will focus once more on a cult in a small American town ravaged by puritanism.
Also in the works is a film adaptation of Project Zero – better known in North America under the title Fatal Frame – which, like the original game, will take place in Japan, according to Gans.
“I have two horror film projects with [producer] Victor Hadida,” the director told the French-language film news site. “I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero. The film will take place in Japan...
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake is coming out later than expected but there’s no stopping the hype train. A new trailer has released featuring the game’s theme song “Hollow” composed by Nobuo Uematsu. But even if the song doesn’t appeal to you, there’s tons of gorgeous cutscenes and gameplay to witness.
From the terror that is Shinra’s president to the Honey Bee Inn and Cloud’s transformation, the trailer also showcases Red XIII for the first time. Oh and Sephiroth is also around, having a fitting “reunion” with Cloud. In terms of gameplay, we see AVALANCHE on a mission to rescue Aerith from Shinra.
If that weren’t enough, we get to see Jenova in all her glory as well...
Back at E3 2018, Bethesda announced it was working on The Elder Scrolls 6, the next entry in its popular and long-running fantasy role-playing game series. However, at the time, it suggested the game was still very, very far away. Further, it was confirmed that its sci-fi role-playing game, Starfield, would release first. In other words, it sounded like the next installment would not hit until around the middle of 2020s. And this may still be the case, however, some new job listings suggest we may get it a tinsy bit earlier.
Over on Zenimax’s official website, Bethesda Game studios is hiring for numerous positions to help develop “bleeding-edge” RPG games for PC and consoles. In other words, it’s on a hiring spree, which seems to suggests the game is entering full production...
Microsoft today announced the launch of a new bug bounty program, this time revolving around its Xbox products. Like other programs of its kind, the Xbox Bounty program seeks the help of security researchers, gamers, and otherwise technology enthusiasts to discover any security issues with its services, and in turn, those that report issues can get monetary rewards.
In the case of the Xbox Bounty program, rewards can go up to $20,000 depending on the severity of the issue and the quality of the submission. The kinds of impact included in the program are remote code execution, elevation of privileges, security feature bypass, information disclosure, spoofing, and tampering, each with its own reward levels. Denial of service attacks are naturally not included in the scope of the program.
